Is Self Esteem, Depression Getting in the Way of your Love Life?

Love and Marriage… Reborn, from Within…What is an interesting “find” that has come up time and time again is that to reach that level of complete and total euphoria, that level of complete and total “oneness” , or a connection with your lover, and loved one… “the” connection with the entire universe both people need to feel good/love themselves. We are not referring to narcissism, or any remote semblance to it. Only then can we as human beings be as open, trusting and accepting as we need to be to enjoy that true meaning and extension to where “that kiss will take us” . To have that trust, that ability to be completely grounded under such circumstances , we must not only love someone else, we need to love ourselves! I have been talking about this since my teens, with the connections to our own physiology. You can not truly and deeply love someone else even in the moment, ( you can be dependent upon someone else, but not truly love someone else) as deeply to the vast extent the universe is capably of allowing you too, unless you are grounded, and in love with who and what you are. inside and out. You must approach love on all levels with no “baggage or doubts about yourself, physically, mentally , emotionally and spiritually to truly enjoy the “organisms of life”… the “organism of truly living” ( if I may use these explicit phrases). It is so important to understand that the “organism or euphoria of ultimate existing”, is a compilation of the physical and metaphysical, along with the psychological and emotional elements all in sync working optimally together, that takes both mind and body participation, and effort to get there. It needs to be taught, and it needs to be understood. This process I am describing is one of the many aspects addressed in Expansive Medicine Lifestyles… we talk and address what I call ultimate living… and I personally, because life in too short, can not understanding why anyone would not be curious in the very least, or would want to live any other way? Proton-Pump Inhibitors May Boost Death Risk in Inpatients
Marcia Frellick
November 12, 2015

Proton-pump inhibitors are commonly used in hospitals to prevent gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, but may increase the risk of dying both for those who start use in the hospital and for those have used them before admission and continue use in the hospital, new data show.

Matt Pappas, MD, MPH, from the Veterans Affairs Ann Arbor Healthcare System and the Department of General Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, and colleagues say the increased risk for death comes because reducing acid in the stomach increases the risk for infections, especially pneumonia and Clostridium difficile (CDI), both of which pose a serious risk to hospitalized patients.

“Our new model allows us to compare that increased risk with the risk of upper GI bleeding. In general, it shows us that we’re exposing many inpatients to higher risk of death than they would otherwise have — and though it’s not a big effect, it is a consistent effect,” Dr Pappas said in a university news release. The authors published the results of their study online November 9 in the Journal of General Internal Medicine.

Given those findings, only those hospital patients at high risk for upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) or mortality and at the very lowest risk for hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) and CDI should be considered for prophylactic PPI use against gastrointestinal bleeding, Dr Pappas said.

The researchers used a microsimulation model, using literature to determine risk estimates for UGIB, HAP, and CDI among inpatients, along with changes in risk with PPI use for each outcome.

New initiation of PPI led to an increase in hospital mortality in about 90% of simulated patients, the authors found. Continuing the drug on admission led to a net increase in hospital mortality in 79% of simulated patients who had been taking the drugs before admission. Results held with both one-way and multivariate sensitivity analyses. Net harm occurred in at least two thirds of patients in all scenarios.

“[I]n running our simulation, we thought we would find some populations such as those on steroids or other medications often prescribed together with PPIs, who would not experience the increased mortality risk,” Dr Pappas said in the news release. “But that turned out not to be the case.” Gastrointestinal bleeds are risky, but HAP and CDI are much more common, he added.

The authors say only two small controlled trials of prophylaxis exist in the inpatient population outside the intensive care unit. Therefore, evidence until this point has come largely from studies performed in intensive care units, where risk for UGIB is much higher because of the frequent presence of respiratory failure.

Limitations include that the study is based on modeling and relies on literature-derived estimates. In addition, distributions are fitted to published estimates and may not represent the patient population at any particular hospital.

Also, prospective risk assessments for UGIB, HAP, and CDI are limited, and although predictive models of UGIB have been retrospectively validated in multiple cohorts, they have not been prospectively validated.

The authors have disclosed no relevant financial relationships.

Fight Back Against the Nonsense and Self Interest Information You are being Bombarded with! 8 Surprising Reasons You Should Cut Back on Coffe

Fight Back Against the Nonsense and Self Interest Information You are being Bombarded with!!
8 Surprising Reasons You Should Cut Back on Coffee (I know many of you who are “addicted to coffee/caffeine will be a little “shut off” when it comes to the truth BUT I do have a healthy alternative that works, at the end of my article!!!)
The Daily Meal 2/19/14
There is something enticing about the aroma of coffee beans, no doubt, and coffee shops have capitalized on the addictive qualities of java, creating catchy names and flavors that are almost too hard to resist. Coffee can be traced as far back to the 9th century, where it was thought to be first cultivated by Arabs, and soon exported out to the rest of the coffee-naive world. Millions of people around the globe today drink coffee, whether it is because of its taste, caffeine, or social connotations.
Click Here to see the Slideshow for Surprising Reasons You Should Cut Back on Coffee
So, is coffee healthy or not? It seem that — much like eggs or milk — one day a new study says it is, then the next day a different study says it’s not. Touted for its many health benefits such as preventing cancer, lowering diabetes risk, stalling the development of dementia — it seems there is a new positive health finding every day. However, there is a lot of conflicting and inconclusive data on what benefits coffee does actually offer.
A lot of scientific data exists that shows the coffee bean may not be as innocent and healthful as it seems. Some deleterious effects of coffee are as follows:
Coffee is a diuretic (which means it makes you pee a lot) thus leading to dehydration if you are not cognizant of drinking water. When you get dehydrated, that means there is not enough water content in the body, which can lead to a lot of unpleasant issues. Urinary incontinence has also been linked to coffee consumption, because of its diuretic effects and stress on the bladder.
Coffee places stress on the adrenals, which are small glands that sit upon the kidneys. The adrenals are responsible for production of many important hormones including aldosterone and cortisol and DHEA as well as epinephrine (aka adrenaline) and norepinephrine, which are involved in “fight or flight” response. Coffee stimulates the adrenals to release adrenaline, which is why coffee gives a burst of energy. However, overindulgence of coffee leads to a constant output of adrenaline, placing stress on the adrenals and wearing them out. When this occurs, people “crash,” and are left feeling tired. Recently, we have been hearing a lot about a condition known as adrenal fatigue.
Coffee can even stain your pearly whites, and yellow teeth are in no way attractive. If you add sweeteners to your coffee, then don’t forget about dental decay, cavities, and halitosis. Coffee can really upset the balance of oral hygiene and bacterial flora. We all probably know what coffee breath smells like, and it ain’t pretty.
Daily consumption of coffee disturbs the body’s functions, even altering natural circadian rhythm. Coffee has been associated with irritability, concentration difficulties, sleep disturbance, insomnia, fatigue, disorganization, lack of coordination and balance, and forgetfulness. Caffeine inhibits GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid), which is an important neurotransmitter in the brain, from functioning optimally, which can lead to anxiety and panic. GABA helps with creating a tranquil disposition and coffee messes with that.
Caffeine is noted to cause bone loss and osteoporosis over time, as shown in a study published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research. This has especially been shown in women, in whom calcium may be pulled from the bones and excreted in the urine, leading to a calcium deficit. In addition to caffeine, the oils and acids in coffee may irritate the gastric lining which in turn increases production of acid leading to heartburn and ulcers. It has been shown that drinking even one to two cups of coffee daily over time causes gastric inflammation, pain, bloating and constipation.
Since caffeine can cross the placenta and enter the baby’s body, which is not ready to metabolize the caffeine, it may impose harmful effects to the developing fetus. There have been some preliminary studies showing that caffeine intake may be related to stillbirths and miscarriages and even fetal cardiac defects, but this has not been completely proven. It is still a cause of enough concern for pregnant women to at least give up coffee during pregnancy.
Coffee may lead to nutritional deficits because it may block certain nutrients from being absorbed, like iron, which can lead to anemia. Also, coffee is a powerful appetite suppressant, and drinking that cup of joe in lieu of eating a well-balanced meal leads to a deficiency in macro and micronutrient intake. Don’t be fooled by the appetite-suppressing effect of coffee for weight loss, because in the long run, your metabolism will slow down, making it harder to lose weight. Unfiltered coffee may actually increase cholesterol, especially LDL, which is the bad cholesterol. This is because unfiltered coffee contains kahweol and cafestol which are known to raise cholesterol, according to the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University. They also say that homocysteine levels may be increased by coffee consumption, though the risk is still unclear. Elevated homocysteine is implicated in cardiovascular disease, such as strokes and heart attacks.
Caffeine exacerbates premenstrual breast tenderness. It can cause gout, allergies, migraines, and tremors. It may impair glucose metabolism, which can be linked to diabetes. Though there may be a lack of evidence showing that coffee causes cancers, it does contain carcinogens, whether it is caffeinated or not. By stimulating the release of adrenaline, unpleasant side effects manifest such as palpitations, increased heart rate, forceful heart contractions and a rise in blood pressure. A Mayo Clinic study recently showed that men who drank more than four cups of coffee (8 oz servings) had a 21% mortality increase.
Remember, coffee beans are crops, so they are sprayed with pesticides, and that is just one more negative aspect to worry about. If you are relying on coffee daily to increase your alertness or energy, then you probably need to reexamine other areas in your life, such as whether you are getting enough sleep or exercise, or if you are consuming a healthy diet.
The cons outweigh the pros when it comes to drinking coffee. There are healthier alternatives to increasing energy without sacrificing your health.

Christina I stopped drinking coffee just over a year ago, feel much better and have more energy all day. Its also let me become more in-tune with my body – instead of grabbing coffee when I’m low I now realize its low blood sugars – grab a healthy snack and I’m up and going again in minutes.

The Healing From Within, With Dr. Craig Brown’s Expansive Medicine

Yes, we are all part of the same “oneness”.  Healing the the Universe is where the purity of our “being” began.  It is hard to believe in this day and age how there is so much sadness, greed, and evil in our world when if fact we all come from the very same source (root), whether molecular, fragments of the vast universe, and/or the very grace of our higher being.  Along with this of course comes great pain and anguish.  How did we distort our God given purity and righteousness?  Dr. Craig Brown’s Expansive Medicine shows how through the addition of all the horribly damaging and evil toxicity we have taken into our minds and bodies, we have arrived at the sad, and frightening place we are seeing each and every day.  It has become a “familiar, almost expected view of our everyday existence,  on our streets, in our communities and what we are constantly witnessing  in our daily news programming.  For those of us that care about our planet, our creation, and the “foot print” we are making for our “future”, and for the children of tomorrow… For those of us that truly care about a tomorrow…For those of us left that even believe in a tomorrow…For those of us who truly love our children and feel we live in spirit and in heaven forever. Please do not give up… Please do not destroy what is holy, and what is precious…do not contribute to destroy our planet, our minds, and our beloved bodies. Truly believe in goodness, and let us all rediscover why we are truly here…to spread the beauty of life, wellness, and SENSIBILITY. By “healing from the inside out, mind, brain, and body, from the source, from the root of this disease that is spreading throughout the world we can recover What is Meant to Be. With your help, and your strength, you/we can Believe in a Future, and a Better World Ahead. We can make it happen…we can reverse the insanity we are seeing each and every day. Now is the time to learn how to deeply love yourself, and your neighbor.  Along with the ability to once again love the world around you, you will have the capacity to make a new world around you… by starting with yourself.  Be a better, smarter, stronger, more Super-YOU!  Dr. Craig Brown’s Expansive Medicine Lifestyles, we care… www.DrCraigBrown.com ♥♥ http://store.drcraigbrown.com/telephone-consultation-request

FDA Strengthens NSAID Warning for Heart, Stroke Risks

DrCraig Brown FDA Strengthens NSAID Warning for Heart, Stroke Risks
FDA Strengthens NSAID Warning for Heart, Stroke Risks.  EXPANSIVE MEDCINE LIFESTYLES ALERT!
The founders of Expansive Medicine has been the conversation for the public to restrict both men and women’s use of NSAIDS even over the counter, especially is there is a history of cardiovascular disease in the family well over a decade and a half ago. These “pains killers” have been used for headaches, muscle aches, muscle and joint soreness, arthritis, menstrual cramps (monthly), and more. FDA Strengthens NSAID Warning for Heart, Stroke Risks – Medscape
www.medscape.com/viewarticle/847747
These types of formulations have been linked to heart attack and stroke for over 15 years by many of us in the medical both alternative, integrative and traditional medical field. The conversation in 2006/2007 that betra and vioxx had been causative agents for the deaths of a half a million people is something we all should review before looking for a magic “pill” alternative for our aches and pains. IN many cases we feel that you should start seriously considering “expansively” addressing the underlying issues of these issue you feel the need to treat with these potentially dangerous medications. Beyond that, we also argued the risk/reward for those who have taken NSAID’s like (generic names) ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, and celecoxib. Ibuprofen and naproxen.  The strengthening of the warning by the FDA appears to be a further alert to the public to beware.
This next concept is very very important for you at consider. Even if the risk for heart attack and stroke are increased, and you do not see a heart attack or stroke in your near future, ISN’T IT POSSIBLE THAT THE ONGOING GROWNING MIND/BODY DAMAGE DURING YOUR JOURNEY TO YOUR FUTURE HEART ATTACK AND/OR STROKE IS SLIGHTLY DAMAGING YOUR POTENTIAL BOTH PHYICALLY AND MENTALLY ALONG THE WAY? IS THIS NOT THE CONVERSATION EXPANSIVE MEDICINE DISCUSSES WHEN WE TALK ABOUT “FAST TRACKING OF AGING?”

Women and Men Testosterone Alert!

WOMEN ALERT: Testosterone is just as important in women as it is in men for not only health and longevity, but for quality of life.  Phathalates are chemicals found in bottles, hair and wash products, creams and many other products or “additives” that have remained “unlabeled”, then of course the public has also remained unaware. Phathalates have been shown to reduce testosterone levels in recent and not so recent studies to an undesirable degree.

With that said, Dr Craig Brown’s Expansive Medicine Diet and Lifestyles will not only address this fast growing issue, but try to take it out the equation needed for optimal health and longevity, as well as just plainly speaking, enjoying a much more physically and sexually vital active life.  It is important to note, that keeping androgen (hormonal levels) maintenance levels can also effect mental and emotional disturbances in both men and women alike.~ Dr. Craig Brown, Expansive Medicine (Expansive (W)Holistic Health Lifestyles) email us at DrCaigBrown@DrCraigBrown.com  1-888-490-9898 for more information and future events.

Phthalates Linked to Testosterone Reductions in Both Genders

Nancy A. Melville

August 19, 2014

The authors (below) underscore that previous research evaluating the effects of phthalates on testosterone in women is especially scarce, despite the importance of testosterone for women as well as men.

“The novel findings presented here for reduced testosterone among women may be of high public-health significance, because androgen deficiency among women may impair sexual function, libido, energy, cognitive functions, bone density, cardiovascular function, and overall well-being,” they write.

Dr. Meeker said it is not easy to fully understand the clinical implications of the work, however. “Because our study was conducted on the population level, it is difficult to interpret how our findings might affect the individual, and some individuals may be more susceptible than others,” he said.

“Things are also complicated by the fact that most products that contain phthalates aren’t labeled as such, making it very difficult for clinicians to be able to make sound recommendations for patients to avoid or reduce exposure.”
